Christmas day was fantastic! full of toys, grandparents, family and lots of fun! and a ham. which I overcooked. and it dried out a little bit. everyone told me it didn't... but they were just being nice ;) and yes, I took a LOT of pictures because Derek bought me a new camera which I'm in LOOOVE with. :) Sophie wrote Jesus a letter telling him what she was gonna do this year that was good and we put it under the tree.

was it me, or did Christmas feel a little...off? no snow, holiday traditions had to be changed up a bit due to work schedules, church during Christmas... I don't know. it was weird! but just think, last year we were going back and forth from the hospital with noah's jaundice....in snow storm after snow storm... but this year we got to enjoy our little guy and all his cuteness. this is sophie's gingerbread house she made we lounged a lot... made cookies for santa and Derek grilled us up some steaks for Christmas eve dinner then we opened Christmas pj's and then Santa came ;)

wow...really? very much so. a very talkative, FUN, cuddly and feisty one year old. Don't take his toys away.... oh he'll let you know he did NOT like it. he learned that from his great teacher Sophie. Ask him for a hug? you got it. Nicest little guy, ever. Feels the need to talk and say "nom nom nom" as he eats. EVERY TIME. he absolutely loves toy cars. LOVES them. he is always carrying one around. he is SUCH a textbook kind of boy. I can't get enough of him. he crawls and stands everywhere, but we are not encouraging walking. LOL we can barely keep up with this tornado as he crawls. He is going to be one trouble maker. we love you little guy. you melt our hearts every day. we tried the whole cupcake thing again... didn't happen. he didn't touch it. but he sure liked his sucker. this is all he did....he grabbed it, and then when he realized it was sticky he wanted nothing to do with it.... I even broke it up for him...nothing. then rubbed the frosting everywhere.... but he sure did enjoy that sucker.

Noah's 1st birthday party

For Noah's 1st birthday party we had an orange and blue (for Chicago bears) football party! lots of food, lots of family. it was FUN! I made his personal cake. not perfect but hey.... it was my first try :) < that's ALL he touched it. wanted nothing to do with it. which is ok with me. less clean up. ;) and then everyone got a turn blowing out the candle. we had little ginger bread houses for the cousins to make as their treat box his new bears jersey Sophie claiming the toys her brother got for herself... HAPPY BIRTHDAY ON THE 21ST LITTLE MAN!!! WE LOVE YOU SO MUCH!

what...a.... BLAST! all 3 kids sat through the WHOLE THING! we decided this year to buy my parents tickets to the show as my mom's bday present. it's as close as we can get to Disneyland right now and it was GREAT! We left Noah with a good friend of mine Erica (which may I mention, is the baby whisperer...) and she put him right to bed and I did not worry about him ONE BIT! it was VERY enjoyable without having to worry about a wiggle bug baby. specially when the show started at bed time.... intermission fun... Sophie was out of it at the end. it was SO late for her. hahaha hence the out of it face. ok she wasn't really that out of it. she just pulls faces....

with thanksgiving QUICKLY approaching, we are surely getting ready around here...and on a boring "everything is clean and we have no errands to run" kind of day, this is what we do. even though this is probably one of about 2 things "thanksgivingly" we are gonna do.... because around here....Christmas comes right after Halloween.... a little paint, googly eyes, string, and cute little hands and voila. you have a morning activity for your pre schooler. :)

that almost wasn't! Sophie did something to her leg about an hr and a half before we were going to go trick or treating with some friends... she came crying from the bathroom and we have NO idea what she did. but she wouldn't walk on it, bend it or put any weight on it for a good 2 hrs and was screaming if she moved or bent it.... we almost spent Halloween at the ER. which i'm glad we didn't go to, since when we got out trick or treating, it started to get better and better. we pushed her in a stroller for a little while, then she started limping around and by the end of the night she was jumping off of stairs after collecting her "candy taxes" what a FUN night we had. it was PERFECT! perfect weather, Babies slept through most of it, Derek made a little kid cry, lot of great candy, no meltdowns, out with our best friends and great costumes everywhere. it was... a very happy Halloween. we started out the day with sophie's pre school halloween party that I helped at. that was a fun morning. Sophie took this picture... Finally got feeling good enough to walk out of her "wheel chair!" Sophie and her "stash" she was very proud of.

do you know when being a parents finally "hits" you? when you realize how amazing your own parents are. When you want to be just like they are when you "grow up". When you realize how much they do for you that all you can do is just say to yourself "I hope that when we can, we can do all they do for us in return." and that's all you can say because you don't know how to begin to repay them for all they have done for you and STILL do for you. When you love your own kids SO much and want SO much for them that you FINALLY realize why your parents made you do the things they did. it's SUCH an overwhelming feeling of gratitude towards them that you just want to do EVERYTHING for them in return for all they do for you. Such great examples of charity, love and service. and STILL teaching us about the gospel daily. even if it's by example. we have been blessed with such amazing parents that we thanks Heavenly Father EVERY SINGLE NIGHT for ALL they do for us. to them, we love you. and THANK YOU. for everything. you make us want to be better parents everyday. we love you.

Our friends told us about Mabey's pumpkin patch in South Jordan and I'm glad they did. So much better than going to the store and picking them up. it was fun. and we made a whole day out from it. AND it was cheaper. :)

REALLY?! already?! yes. she was SO excited, SO ready and SO great at her first day of school. she kept asking if it was time to go yet. and when we got there she said "bye mom!" and walked right in. yep, totally ready. didn't even turn around to say bye.HA! she goes Monday, Wed, and Friday from 10-12 and goes with most of her friends from church and my friend's kids. we are VERY excited for her. and I had NO idea I could do SO much cleaning in two hours with only ONE kid! who knew? the proud parents of an 8 month old little boy.... with teeth. :) two bottom teeth have made their appearance today. on his 8 month birthday. two little holes in his gums... one poking his little head out. He's been a champ. Noah is SO close to taking the plunge for crawling we can smell it! he eats like a machine. weighs in at around 19lbs. rolls around the house. is SUPER vocal when he wants something. is the nicest, sweetest, happiest baby I've ever met. Love you little man. happy 8 month bday.

Happy birthday to my sweet husband. Yesterday. We were SO busy playing I didn't have time to blog. We started out our day by dropping the kiddos off at grandma's house (PS: thank you SO much grandma Anderson and Kayla for watching the kids. SO SO SO MUCH!) we drove up to park city, which may I mention, was SO nice to drive. It rarely happens that we get to take a beautiful, long drive together and just chat. We rode the alpine slide and zip line and had SO much fun! it was SO fun to play. just us two. Then we met up with Travis and Natalie for lunch (again, thank you SO much for buying us lunch you two...) and then went and shopped around in park city outlets. headed home, picked up the kids and went out to dinner with grandma and grandpa and kayla (and thank YOU gma and gpa for DINNER! geesh, we sure did get spoiled) and then went home and put the kids down and RELAXED some MORE! seriuosly? what a PERFECT birthday we had for Derek. it was SO much fun. I wish I could fly him to mexico for the day or something huge like that because he deserves it ALL. he works SO hard and is so amazing at always searching for something better to make our life better. thank you Derek for being an amazing dad, husband, friend, best friend, nerd, son, brother, and brother in law. we love you. very very VERY much. :) One of our zip line rides. Derek beat me, every time. apparently the heavier the better... Derek took this of me, but unfortunately he took it AFTER I was done making my sweet old lady face. Derek's beautiful round head... oh and a nice view behind us...

Summer play dates

yes. we had yet another summer bash play date. why not right? we had 15 kids total and they had a BLAST! They had lunch... played on the slip and slide, swam, and played on the playground... and when it started raining they played in Sophie's room... pictures tell it all. LOL and then after all her friends left, Sophie crashed on the couch... which may I say... was the first time EVER she has done that. I mark that a successful play date. and while she slept... Noah played with all the toys she never lets him play with. LOL SO fun. thank you again ladies! can't wait to do it again next week!

what a fun 4th we had! full of parties, fireworks, food, friends, family and FUN! Derek and I did the freedom 10k, fulfilling my 2nd goal for my races. next up... half marathon! yikes. we had lots of fun enjoying the run, hanging out with buelo and buela and feeding the duckies, heading down to Travis and Natalie's for a BBQ and relaxing! UTAH VALLEY 1/2 MARATHON

So Derek did it again! he ran the UV 1/2 marathon on June 11. he had a bum knee so I was expecting him to take a little longer, so when we got there and sat down, I got a call from Derek saying "I'm done!" I was SO bugged that I didn't get there earlier and see him run. boo. oh well. He did it in 1:55:50. best time YET! way to go babe. so proud.

Well. yes it's been forever since I've blogged. seems like I feel like I stay updated thanks to facebook and then I remember I'm not blogging. SO. Life. as we know it, is good! the kids are growing like no other. Sophie can write her name all by herself now. and is a social butterfly who will go to everyone, and I mean everyone, and talk to them. she's getting SO fun. We love it. She's a really good big sister. surprisingly. she's super sweet to him and makes him giggle. she only whacks him with her toys once in a while... Noah is a chunk. he LOVES food. cookies, fruit, cereal, anything. we think he's teething too. he's up to 17 lbs. he giggles, sleeps a lot, rolls over, and is in the verge of sitting up by himself! go buddy. he is a big cuddler. FINALLY got a kid who likes to cuddle. LOVE these two. they are TOO cute together.

Pink Series 5K

I have FINALLY kicked my butt into gear and started running to get back in shape after 2 pregnancies. so far, I've been at it for a month, and have gone from not being able to finish my mile without walking, to running 5+ miles. and it feels GREAT! and the fact that I've lost 11 lbs is not too shabby either. :) we did the 5k today that is for breast cancer and it was SO fun. i have to admit though...I'm TOTALLY disappointed in how tired I was at the end of it, since I run 3 mile or more every day and I am NOT that tired... but after talking with Paula and figuring out why I was so tired I felt better... a little bit. :) I gotta thank Paula for sticking with me through the whole thing, since she could have finished it in prob 23 mins instead of 28 like we did :) I just gotta say thanks to Paula and Macaia for being AWESOME coaches throughout my "transformation". Thanks guys. Love my skinny sisters. :)

as the day Sophie bore her testimony in sacrament meeting for the first time. I almost cried it was too sweet. she said "I wanna bare my testimony,(giggle...giggle) I love my mommy... and my daddy, grandma and papa, buelo and buela and Jesus Christ, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen." sweetest. moment. ever. :) way to be brave baby girl, mom and dad are super proud ;)

RUN DEREK RUN!!

Derek completed his first HALF MARATHON on Sophie's 3rd birthday! we went down to Moab where the race went down a beautiful canyon. WHAT A MACHINE! he trained for weeks and ran to the moon and back doing so. he completed it in just under 2 hrs at 1hr 56 mins. the wind was blowing like CRAZY and they were running against it. what strength. amazes me. someday I'll get there. after a LOT of training. Paula and Adam did it too and came in at about the same time. My parents came along for a mini vacation and to cheer on the troops! GOOD JOB GUYS!!!! Derek's next half will be in June. at the Utah valley marathon. Dinner the night before with Buela and Buelo sporting daddy's race hat giving dad a pep talk the night before. Heading out to the race! they had a killer playground that we spent a little time in waiting for dad to arrive yards from the finish line!! WAY TO GO DADDY!!

WHY NOT?! we celebrated Sophie's 3rd birthday this year with polka dots! it was SOO fun! we invited all cousins and Sophie's friends and we had a BLAST! I rented a huge inflatable slide that was a HUGE hit for the party. it might just be a tradition to get one of those for her party every year! what a fun and relaxing party it was. all the kids were outside going up and down the slide, while all the grownups were chatting inside. it was fantastic! I had a friend of mine do the cake (thanks again Stacy!!) and it was delicious AND cute! I love throwing parties... I love this picture. not only did we capture sophie in the act of blowing the candles, but her friend Bentley looks totally pissed of for some reason.. LOL she wasn't... but she looks it :) Missing from the kids picture are Luca, Khloe, gideon and Brehmin. She was saying "OOOH my gooosh!!!" Sophie wanted to go down on our tummies together. LOL it was fun. If you look closely, you can see Emma (Sophie's twin cousin) pushing her up... by her butt. HAHAH)

it's almost been a month since I've posted! busy. very busy. newborns are a lot of work. specially when you combine them with a 3 year old. but here's what we have been up to lately. Doing a lot of this... and this... and playing outside... and playing with friends... and ending the day with this...

A Rough Start

Our "little buddy" as Sophie calls him, sure has had a rough start in life. first it was the jaundice and dealing with all the poking and labs and lights and now this. this past Week Sophie came down with a cold, and then got me sick, and then Noah was the third victim... like always, Derek didn't get sick. He has an immune system of steel. I took both kids into the doctor on Monday to get checked out because I thought Noah was feeling warm and it was really making me worried. Turns out, he had a fever. and a bit of a high one, that had reached about 101 or 102.. or so my thermometer said. So the doc called the hospital in AF and he was admitted to see what was going on with him. He said they take fevers VERY seriously in the first month of life, due to high risk of infection and such. So they took a bunch of blood, urine and did a spinal tap on him to check him for meningitis. don't worry, he fell asleep during the whole thing. apparently they do spinal taps on infants different and they don't hurt.. PHEW. I was TERRIFIED about him being in pain. after a couple of days at the hospital and antibiotics and IV's and anti-virals he seemed good enough to go home. he broke his fever on Monday night so that was good. He came back positive for influenza A. so he got the flu. poor little man. bugs me that I have not gone ANYWHERE with him where he could have caught something. thanks nursery. no more of that. he is doing fantastic now. even gained weight at the hospital coming in at a whooping 9.5 lbs already doesn't even seem sick at all. thanks to many priesthood blessings from his daddy and lots of prayers from everyone. thank you!!!!!

REALLY? 3 WEEKS?!

indeed. our little "buddy bear" (which is the nickname that has stuck with him...) has reached 3 weeks. holy cow. that was fast. he is above birth weight and free from jaundice. SO glad. he is waking up 2 times a night and sleeps pretty much all day. then he wakes up for a couple hrs and checks things out and wears himself out and sleeps the rest of the day. Sophie is doing PHENOMENAL with him. doesn't bother him, try to help too much and loves him to death. he is bored out of her mind of me and staying home but with play dates and outings she manages :) life as we know it is good. :) ok. I didn't realize how YELLOW he had gotten till I saw this picture. WOW. I'm glad he is not a chinese baby anymore.

Noah Michael Anderson made his grand entrance on December 21st at 5:20pm weighing in at a whopping 7lbs 4 oz and measuring at 20.5 inches. I was able to do a VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarian). it was not too long. went into the doctor at around 10 ish after some "leaking" and then was sent over to labor and delivery. I was at a 6. So after a couple hrs of pushing until my head was gonna explode Noah came! oh what an AWESOME experience it is to hear your baby and have him put on you RIGHT after birth. It was AWESOME. he is doing GREAT! sleeping like an angel, eating like an angel, and cuddly as can be. we feel like he's been part of our family forever already. he is under the jaundice lights cause his jaundice levels were a bit high and he started getting yellow so we are taking care of that at the moment. we'll see what happens. but we are all doing AWESOME! Sophie is doing great. when he cries she goes to him, holds his hand and says "it's ok Noah, I'm here... I'm here buddy." LOL she's had a couple jealous moments but hasn't tried to throw him out yet ;) she leaves him alone and doesn't try to do everything which is SO nice for me. we are super excited to be a new family of four!

anyone seen november? cause it went by, pretty fast, and I think I lost it. at least we had fun with it. sending letters to santa at Macy's... Getting fun new hats... Derek ran a 5K in FULL firefighter gear... about 50lbs worth. (way to go babe) and eating LOTS of food for thanksgiving and hanging out with cousins and we are getting ready to welcome little Mr. Noah into our family this month. we'll see when it happens, anywhere between Dec 12th and Dec 29th. he is welcome anytime. (except the 24th or 25, for his sake)

Pumpkin Fun

We picked up some pumpkins for Halloween this past week and painted them for FHE. We were gonna do the whole pumpkin patch thing, but with Derek just having had surgery, and me 7 months pregnant, walking around in the mud wasn't a great idea.... so off to smith's we went. :) Sophie didn't care. she was super excited to paint them. and she had a blast doing it. She even wanted to pick one out for her brother. I LOVE FALL.

My gallbladder-less husband

So just a couple weeks ago Derek started to get really sick when he ate anything heavy on the stomach. He would get super nauseous and would have horrible stomach pains. Last Sunday it got SO bad that we took him to the ER where they did a bunch of tests and x-rays. his organs looked OK but his blood tests were a bit off. His tests showed that his gallbladder was not filtering like it should... after he was sent home he felt OK. Monday he thought he had a light dinner, but boy was he wrong. He was up again all night and so we moved a test they were doing on Thursday to that Tue. The test showed that his gallbladder was only working at about 25% which the lowest of normal is 38%. On wed night he was in terrible pain again and this time it didn't stop. So we saw a surgeon on Thursday morning, and Thursday at 1pm his gallbladder was gone. he did great and is feeling MUCH better. he had his first real meal yesterday, which his stomach didn't like too much, but it didn't cause the pain or discomfort it did. It'll take a little bit for his body to get used to the change but we are SO glad he is doing better. We really enjoyed having him home all week, even though it was under those circumstances. but we sure are glad he is all better! Back to his old self :)

The Fun Part About BYU Games

We went with Paula, Adam and Will to a BYU football game this last weeked with NO kids. and it was fantastic. of course we all missed our kids but it's nice to be with just your spouse. Not even thinking about it I wore RED. GO UTES. Paula and Adam, sitting on the other side of the stadium, said they found me in the crowd, thanks to my red shirt in a sea of blue. but they were playing Nevada, and since Derek is from Nevada I cheered for them, while Derek and Will sitting next to me tried hiding from everyone giving me dirty looks. Sophie's new cut

so... I used to be able to trim Sophie's hair when it was super short... not so much now... and it was too late when I realized that and her hair looked SO bad. haha so we took her to cookie cutters today and had her hair cut. I am very satisfied with the results. little stinker sat completely still for him and tilted her head and everything! why won't she do that for me!! this was her first REAL hair cut and she loved it. she didn't wanna leave. I had to drag her out. haha

ARE EXHAUSTING! Being in the primary presidency is by far the most fun calling I've ever had. It's a LOT of work, specially when you're pregnant and have no energy left for anything anymore. but I would not trade it for the world! So to relax and have fun we decided to make some sugar cookies... she was a super great helper and LOVED making them and of course got to eat one... just one. it was almost bed time, and she was already wired enough... fun times fun times... sophie was having so much fun she was hugging her cookie cutters. LOL and all we ended up with was flour all over the place including sophie's WHOLE body and my belly from rubbing on the table... LOL

We went to the hospital yesterday to check me out.... there were some weird things going on with my um... pee. HAHAH so I was told to go in and get my fluids checked out. everything turned out fine and the baby looks great. in fact it's growing a little quicker. it's now 5 days ahead of schedule. so technically I'm 16 weeks today according to measurements. we got to peak and have an ultrasound and Sophie was just SO excited to get to see the baby. she was sitting with her dad the whole time going "aaaw... cute baby. look daddy! it's the baby in mommy's tummy!" it was adorable. the ultrasound tech decided to print out a pic of the ultrasound and for some reason decided on this one... you can totally see the hands and arms but i don't know if that's the head or the tummy of the baby.LOL... in 3 weeks we find out the gender so we'll get better ones then. Sophie has been turning into such a little mommy and takes care of her baby and wants the baby to "come out". she's always telling me "when baby comes out, I hold it?" LOL she is super excited. we'll see when the jealousy kicks in. I can GUARANTEE you it will. BAD. LOL

what a FUN holiday weekend we had. we had family from AZ and CO and everyone was there! it has been a while since the whole family got together. we went up to a resort and spent the day there and saw some fireworks and enjoyed the parade and lots of good food and company. it was GREAT to see everyone!! Summer Pool Play Date

So we decided to get together with a few friends and have some summer fun. and let me tell you. it was a BLAST. it was a nice break to hang out with the ladies and let the little ladies hang out too. thank goodness for backyards!! we also did some crafts this weekend when the weather was poopy. and sophie just LOVES to paint.

So many of you didn't know this, some of you did... but we are expecting again! due to last time's oopsie we decided to see the doctor before telling everyone. and thats what we did today! we saw the baby, heard the heartbeat and got a HUUUUGE sigh of relief. looks like everything is GREAT with this one! made me feel SO much better when he said "once we hear the heart beat, the chance of miscarriage drops to 5%" (PHEEEW) so we are very optimistic about this one. I'm 9 weeks along and feeling VERY pregnant, sicker than I was with sophie and looking pregnant too. the baby is measuring a couple days bigger and the heart beat was super strong and very promising! we couldn't have done this without all your prayers so THANK YOU! for your love and support! Baby anderson #2 coming 1/11/11 :)

... so they have someone to do the bragging for them...HAHA But mostly to make them realize how amazing they really are. Derek received the "student excellence award" from UVU building inspection department. Each department picked one student who stood out and did a fantastic job during their school carreer. I'm glad to know that I wasn't the only one who thought that :) (of course other than our family) The board and chairmen all get together and choose students with this potential and Derek's name was chosen in his department. What a great honor to be this man's wife. He is outstanding in all he does and goes a mile above and beyond of what he is required to do. He is always looking for something else to learn and keep busy with. Derek you are an inspiration to me and you amaze me with everything you do. I LOVE YOU. :)

my little sophie is all grown up... you know what she said to me today? this is how it went... Sophie: mom? have cookie? ME: you gotta wait till after dinner and then you can have a cookie SOPHIE: eat first. then have cookie. gotta be patient. WHAT?!!! seriously?!!! did my 2 year old just say those exact words?! and I know she didn't learn it from me. because if i want something, i want it NOW. Gotta give credit to the show "little bill" on nick jr. she has an episode where little bill wants to see the elephants at the zoo and has to be patient to see them at the end of the trip. proof that TV sometimes makes a better teacher than me. HAHHAHHAA THANK YOU LITTLE BILL! PS: sophie is now pacifier free. it flew into the sky today escorted by two balloons. and we told her that "pete" went home to see his mom and dad. she did REALLY well with the whole thing. she is not mad at us for taking it because we didn't take it. he just went home. hang on to your horses for a few hard nights to come :D she wanted her baby to go potty with her.... AND have a book. (in St. George last week talking to the cute boy down the hall on the phone)

What a FUUUN easter we had. We had the Anderson side of the family up to our house and had a DELICIOUS... OOOH DELICIOUS prime rib. it was amazing. can't get over it. Dad anderson did a superb job cooking it. always does. prime rib master. after dinner we had a little easter egg hung for the cousins. we stuck all the kids in the play room and hid the eggs. when we called all the kids out sophie came out in her high heal princess shoes, pearls, and basket in hand. she was ready. and ready in style. she loved hunting for eggs and had a blast with all her cousins. she loves playing with them and its SO nice because we get adult talk time. she enjoyed her easter basket full of eggs, dinasours, new dora toothbrush and Jesus picture and other stuff. what a GREAT easter. Don't these two look SOOO alike? its her cousing Khloe. :)

Ok. I need help. and I need it NOW. seems like ever since sophie turned 2, she grew horns, turned in her cute loving personality for a much fierce one. I understand that tantrums are normal and I can handle those. no biggie. I know what to do about those. but I've been faced with a much worse condition. the "the world belongs to me" mentality. they should give prescriptions out for this. its HORRIBLE. apparently everything sophie touches, sees, smells, tastes, anything she owns at home and sees elsewhere, anything in her reach is HERS. MINE! MINE! MINE! is all I hear... all day. everyday. Now, its unfortunate that I know exactly who she picked this up from, and for their sake I won't name names. but don't worry. it's none of you. They don't read my blog. so youre off the hook. :) I have NO idea how to deal with it. do I punish her? ignore it? explain to her that its bad? tell her NO!... I HAVE NO CLUE. I have tried all of these. and I don't know which one to stick with. I don't wanna ignore it TOO much and have her think she can just rule the world... PLEASE HELP MOMS! what did you do when or if your toddler this did?

So the day finally came that I threw sophie's 2nd birthday bash. and let me tell ya... it was a HUGE party. with about 35-40 guests and LOTS of decorations, good food, and lots of fun. Sophie didn't sleep at all the night before, and took a 20 mins nap the day of.... so she was pretty cranky. like always when there is a party going on. then when we went to blow her candles she jammed her hand into the match i had JUST put out because she got frosting on her arm and didn't like it...(miss OCD clean) and burned her hand... it was an eventful birthday... but it turned out GREAT! thanks everyone for coming and sharing this great BDAY with us! and then after mommy accidently burned her....(i'm such a good mom)

so, just so I remember what my kid can and can't years from now here are her stats. age:2years Sophie can... tell you all the letters, upper and lower case, numbers, shapes, and colors. tell you pretty much whatever she wants to do. throws HUGE tantrums. sleeps good. eats like crap. talks too much. says "that's gay." LOL sings to all her show songs. dances like a rock star. prays :) says thank you and please. and LOVES to play with other kids reads her name and the words mommy and daddy and now happy birthday too :) and can also spell her name Sophie can't. Sit still. open doors. thank goodness.... can't NOT be the center of attention. can't climb big things. can't sleep anywhere else but her bed or car seat or a bed set up for her. love ya baby cakes....

ok... this is a little late. BUT. I wanted to congratulate Derek for graduating college in December. He graduated with his bachelor's in business with a associate in building inspection. He worked so hard for so many years that he deserves the BEST! Good job for all your hard work and dedication. He always went to school full time and worked full time so I could stay home with sophie and I want to thank him for that. You amaze me at how dedicated you are to everything! thank you to Derek's parents and my parents for all the support and guidance they have given us. We couldn't have done it without you guys! we love you! To celebrate we went with everyone to texas road house and got derek a little giant ladder he's been asking me about FOREVER. now he has NO excuse to not put lights up next year ;) LOVE YOU DEREK!

STARTING OVER

Well! looks like this pregnancy is a no go. We went in for my 8 week apt and there was no heart beat. The "baby" never got a heart beat cause it stopped developing at 6 weeks. But! don't go getting sad on me. we're ok! We were sad the day we were told about it and then realized there is no point in letting things get you down. So we saw the possitive side of it all and the fact that it's better it happened now than later and we'll just start over again! maybe next time we'll get a better reaction from my mom when we tell her... hahah NOT! that was classic. SO! you'll just have to wait a few more months :) I'm glad to have the gospel in our lives to make this SO easy and understanding the BIG picture of things.

This year we hosted thanksgiving for my side of the family at our house. It was our first thanksgiving in our home so it was nice to host it. everything turned out very yummi and I didn't burn the turkey!! hahah it turned out pretty good. We had TONS of fun with sophie and emma and watching old family videos and laughing at ourselves. hahah I thank Heavenly Father everyday for the great family we are in. thank you guys for coming!

we took sophie trick or treating this year and we had a blast! she was so cute running around pointing at all the "pukin!" (pumkins) and chasing all the cats and dogs around the neighborhood. we went up to my sister's in centerville and my brother and debbie came up with us and we went to dinner and headed out to get our treats! we had lots of FUN! she learned the words "moon" and realized that stars were not only pictures but something in the sky! hahaha so she kept pointing at the moon and stars saying "moooooon" and "tars!" there was a little boy dressed in a super cute puppy costume that was all fluffy and she for some reason thought it was a real dog and was following him saying "puppy! puppy" it was hillarious! we then explained to her it was a little boy and so she went back to playing with the cat that was following us. she sure loves animals....

what a fun and eventful trip we had! sophie was loving all the characters and kissing all of them. of course she got super tired and therefore cranky but we survived. it was a FUN trip! she danced to all the parades and sang and danced at the disney playhouse show. she LOVED that. that was a highlight. along with her yelling mickey!!! and running to him and giving him a big hug. too cute. LOVED IT.

we finally laid our sod! it only took 1.5 hrs thanks to all the help that showed up. there were men carrying sod everywhere! 3500 sq ft of sod laid so quick!!thank you everyone for your help! we will enjoy our yards very much!!! :) (the little dirt patch in the back behind the curbing will be where the playground will be that we plan on getting next spring.) sorry the panoramic pictures kinda look weird and make the yard look all funky. :) it doesn't do it justice of how beautiful it looks!! next spring we will put decorative rock and plants in the front yard behind the curbing
