so I was wondering... when do you teach a baby to self soothe? is there a good age to start? I don't want to do it too early and scar sophie... just wondering... I don't want to spoil her... which I think I already do... haha but I don't want her to end up very needy when she is cranky...Let me know ladies! THANKS!

I think you should spoil her as much as you can now cause you can...she's still SO little...
Oh I started putting Kaylee to bed by herself at about 7 months and I think it was a good age she handled it well I started out with bed time I set 8 pm as bed time and everynight I would feed her and put her in her pjs and then lay her down the first 3 night we HORRIBLE!!! SHe cried for 45 min the first night but the 4th night she just rolled over and went to bed and then I moved onto naps I think the key was getting a goo schedule and just sticking to it I am so glad I did that now it makes it so much easier and she sleeps longer if I let her put herself to sleep. If you have any other questions just call me!
Emma's pediatrician told us to try and put her down at 8 weeks. I did...she's been good. Every baby is so different though. She started sleeping through the night at 3 months. We did develop a routine so that she knew it was bed time coming up. She just got used to it. It was definitely heart wrenching for the first while doing it at so young, but she did learn. That's our story!

We started Max at around 6 months and that worked great for him. We did try a couple times before then and it was horrible!!! Good luck!
I started letting my babies cry things out pretty young. It was hard, but if they were fed, diapered, burped and I checked all the other signs, then sometimes they were just over stimulated and needed to vent. I know some women who never let their babies cry and alway rock or hold them till they fall asleep, then they have angry toddlers that haven't learned to self soothe and fall asleep on their own. I am not an expert, but that is what I did with my girls and they are GREAT sleepers.
I'm just hardcore or something...I started all of my kids at 7 weeks! But it worked for us. They all sleep through the night and go to bed on their own awake. Max was probably my easiest to do - I guess the 3rd time was the charm!
